Higgins had decided she'd rather teach, saying in a statement, "Due to my current job responsibilities as a middle school teacher and the responsibilities and time commitment as Miss Georgia, I have decided to not fulfill the duties of Miss Georgia 2009."
With that strong a sense of duty, I bet she is an awesome teacher.
Well it is nice to hear a story about the Miss America in a more positive light. I wonder if she entered thinking she might not win so when she did then she had to make the decision between the crown and teaching...
